Quinze acupuncteurs ayant une vaste expérience de l'acupuncture dans l'assistance médicale à la procréation ont défini un protocole d'acupuncture avec un consensus d'accord à 80%. Ce consensus propose des orientations pour des recherches cliniques plus poussées. Le protocole de traitement comprend l'utilisation de l'acupuncture en médecine traditionnelle chinoise avec utilisation d'acupuncture manuelle. Le premier traitement est administré entre le 6ème et 8ème jour de l'AMP, deux autres séances seront administrées le jour du transfert d'embryons avec puncture des points 8Rte(Diji), 10Rte (Xuehai), 3F (Taichong), 29E (Guilai), 4VC (Guanyuan) et après le transfert : 20VG (baihui), 3R (taixi), 36E (zusanlii), 6Rte (Sanyinjiao) et 6MC (Neiguan). On utilisera aussi le point d'auriculothérapie : Shenmen et enfin Zigong.
