L'asthme est un problème de santé majeur et de mortalité significative dans le monde entier. Bien que les symptômes puissent être contrôlés par un traitement médicamenteux chez la plupart des patients, une stratégie non médicamenteuse à faible risque pourrait constituer une avancée significative dans la gestion de l'asthme, du fait qu'un nombre croissant de patients atteints d'asthme est attiré par l'acupuncture et la moxibustion. Par conséquent, il est important de savoir si des preuves scientifiques sur l'efficacité de ce type de thérapie peuvent être objectivées. Nos dernières recherches ont suggéré que la moxibustion pourrait être efficace dans le traitement de l'asthme. Cette étude a pour objectif d'étudier l'efficacité de la moxibustion par rapport au traitement médicamenteux classique. Cette étude sera multicentrique (12 centres en Chine) contrôlée randomisée avec deux bras parallèles (A : moxibustion ; B : médicaments classiques). Groupe A : points en moxibustion sur la région rectangulaire qui est comprise entre deux lignes latérales extérieures du méridien Vessie (zutaiyang) et les deux lignes horizontales de 13V (Feishu) et 17V17 (Geshu) ; Groupe B : traité par fluticasone / salmétérol (Seretide). Les mesures des résultats seront évaluées sur une période de 3 mois avant chaque visite clinique, aux jours 15, 30, 60 et 90. Visite de suivi se fera à 3, 6 mois après la session du dernier traitement. On recueillera les informations sur les événements indésirables à chaque visite. Cette étude fera appel à des méthodes de haute qualité méthodologique selon les recommandations CONSORT. On pourra ainsi apporter la preuve de l'efficacité de la moxibustion comme traitement de l'asthme chronique persistant modéré.
