En Suède, 90 enfants âgés de 2-8 semaines en bonne santé par ailleurs et souffrant de colique infantile ont été randomisés dans une étude contrôlée en double aveugle Six visites durant 3 semaines : groupe traitement (N=46) le point 4GI puncturé bilatéralement pendant 20 secondes sur une durée de 5mn ; et dans le groupe témoin (N=44) pas d'acupuncture. Résultats : Il y avait une différence (p = 0,034) en faveur du groupe acupuncture par rapport au groupe témoin. La durée d'agitation était plus faible dans le groupe acupuncture par rapport au groupe témoin (74mn versus 129 min, p = 0,029) et à la deuxième semaine (71 mn vs 102 min, p = 0,047). La durée des pleurs liés aux coliques (9mn versus 13 min, p = 0,046) était aussi plus faible dans le groupe acupuncture. La durée totale d'agitation, de pleurs et des coliques (TC) a été inférieure dans le groupe acupuncture pendant la première (193 vs 225 min, p = 0,025) et la 2ème semaine d' intervention (164 vs 188 min, p = 0,016). Conclusions : l'acupuncture minimale réduit la durée et l'intensité des pleurs chez les nourrissons souffrant de coliques. De nouvelles recherches en utilisant différents points d'acupuncture, d'autres techniques d'acupuncture et les intervalles entre les traitements sont néanmoins nécessaires.
